Everyone has a Day One
We hope you start yours with us!
At Action 24 Fitness, we believe fitness is more than just a workout. It’s a way to bring people together. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’re not just joining a gym; you’re becoming part of a community that sweats, laughs, and grows stronger side by side, through healthy habits.

Our story began years ago when Wally Thorbjornsson, a high level power lifter, opened the gym (then called StrongFit) in hopes of inspiring others to get into power lifting. Wally himself, held seven national titles and was sixth in the world in 1996. He was also behind the inaugural StrongFit strength and fitness trials in Smiths Falls, in 2018. Wally believed in giving back to his community as well. He was a big supporter of Lanark County Interval House and Salvation Army, to name a few. Since Wally's passing in 2021. The gym has been owned by his wife Daeja, who keeps it going in his memory.
Today, the gym is run day-to-day by a small team of women. Sam Pearce, Gym Manager, joined Action 24 in May. Her aim was to create a place where encouragement comes as easily as high-fives, and where every milestone, big or small, is celebrated together. Here, we don’t chase perfection, we build consistency, confidence, and connection.
Whether you’re lifting your first weight, training for a new goal, or just showing up to move and feel good, you’ll find a team and a community ready to cheer you on. Everyone has a day one and we want to be here for yours.
